I”ve been having such a hard time writing anything lately. Part of it is the snowy winter, part of it is my messy house, but most of it is my chaotic brain. So I am taking baby steps, trying to put words on paper even when they aren’t what I want to say. (But when I can placate the chaos in my brain waves, it’s very likely I will spew words, words, and more words. This is your only warning \ud83d\ude42 .)<\/p>\n

Charli Mills at Carrot Ranch<\/a>\u00a0has issued a new challenge: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story using the theme, \u201cwomen create.\u201d \u00a0I’m doing something a bit different this week.<\/p>\n

Monday<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I tried to create a feel-good dinner<\/span><\/strong>
\nbut burned the onions and rice\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/strong>
\n(the carrots were still edible).<\/span><\/strong>
\nI tried to create harmony<\/span><\/strong>
\nbut people-pleasing? Not my forte.<\/span><\/strong>
\nI gave up pretty quickly.<\/span><\/strong>
\nI tried to create smiles<\/span><\/strong>
\nBy telling stories about my muddy dog<\/span><\/strong>
\nwho has more Facebook friends than I.<\/span><\/strong>
\nI tried to create awareness<\/span><\/strong>
\nbut my friends asked why my wall is so depressing.<\/span><\/strong>
\nIt\u2019s not me, I said; it\u2019s the world.<\/span><\/strong>
\nI tried to create hope<\/span><\/strong>
\nbut was trolled on Twitter.<\/span><\/strong>
\nHope\u2019s so trite these days.<\/span><\/strong>
\nI tried and tried.<\/span><\/strong>
